September 2017 Meeting

We will be celebrating the Club’s 40th anniversary! The meeting will take place in the theater of the Williamsburg Library, 515 Scotland St., Williamsburg, Va., at 7:00.

Dr. Mitchell Byrd will be the speaker at the September meeting. He is Chancellor Professor of Biology Emeritus at William and Mary and Director Emeritus of the Center for Conservation Biology. He has received numerous honors and awards for his work with birds and conservation issues. Mitchell will be 90 on his next birthday and has been associated with birds for well over 70 years. He will talk about some of the changes in our avifauna over that time, some of the projects he has been involved with, some of the conservation issues that he has been involved in, and what he sees for the future of birds.

October 2017 Meeting

Our presenter for our October 18, 2017 meeting will be our club President, Bill Williams. He will be speaking on Birds of the Greater Antilles. Bill traveled to the Dominican Republic in December for research and then Puerto Rico this past March for birding. His presentation is sure to contain some good conservation stories as well as some great bird photos.

November 2017 Meeting

Dr. Bryan Watts, Director of the Center for Conservation Biology of The College of William and Mary & The Virginia Commonwealth University, will be presenting for our meeting November 15, 2017. More information will be coming regarding his presentation.
