Greetings to all on a muggy summer Sunday! Thanks to all for coming out to the New Quarter Park Bird Walk yesterday. Our fearless leader, Bill Williams, did a great job keeping track of the birds and birders! I don't think anyone got lost along the trail!! Here is the group photo taken at the fire circle -- 22 people -- and all are smiling!
Bill's list of birds as he entered them into eBird is below. 36 species tallied! Highlights down at the floating dock were the two Yellow-crowned Night Herons -- adult and one young. Was Bill the only one who heard the Clapper Rail?? Bill said he also heard the Yellow-billed Cuckoo in the parking lot shortly before most of us arrived.
